Membership Requirements
To be eligible for membership in Sigma Iota Rho, you must:
• Be enrolled as a full-time student with a major or minor in the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University
• Complete at least 1 semester of university (at GWU or another accredited institution)
• Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.4
• Adhere to the values of SIR and the George Washington University
About Recruitment
Recruitment is a two-week period early each semester where Potential New Members attend and participate in our signature events to learn more about SIR as an organization and our members. At the same time, SIR members are given an opportunity to meet and learn more about you! Events are a mixture of business professional and business casual and invite Potential New Members to explore various aspects of international affairs. Potential New Members must attend all signature events (excluding optional social) and submit an application to be considered for membership. Applications will be released during Recruitment season. We are excited to meet you!
Fall 2022 Recruitment begins on Tuesday, September 20, 2022! Please fill out this interest form so we can send you reminders. All starred events are mandatory for membership consideration and interviews will be scheduled upon application submission. Applications are due Sunday, September 25 at 11:59pm EST.
